(Temporary Traffic Regulation) Notice 2024

Notice is hereby given that Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council intends to make an Order in
accordance with the provisions of Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect will
be to prohibit vehicular traffic on the following roads in the Parishes of Farndon, Aldford and Saighton,
Hargrave and Huxley, Tattenhall and District, Beeston, No Mans Heath and District, Malpas,
Threapwood to enable the Womens Tour of Britain Cycle Race event to take place on Friday 7th
June 2024: –
The closure of the roads below will come into operation between 11:30 and 14:00. This will be
managed by the Police as a rolling road closure, travelling in a clockwise direction (Farndon, Churton,
Aldford, Bruera, Tattenhall, Beeston, Hampton Heath, Malpas, Cuddington Heath, Threapwood), and
will be approximately 30 minutes at each location.
High Street Farndon (from Bridge St Holt to Churton Road)
Churton Road (from High Street to Chester Road)
Chester Road (from Churton Road to B5130 Sibbersfield Lane)
B5130 Chester Road (from Sibbersfield Lane to Chapel Lane)
Chapel Lane (from B5130 Chester Road to Platts Lane)
Platts Lane (from Chapel Lane to A41 Whitchurch Road)
A41 Whitchurch Road (from Platts Lane to Chester Road)
Chester Road (from A41 Whitchurch Road to Gatesheath Lane
Gatesheath Lane (from Chester Road to Newton Lane)
Newton Lane (from Gatesheath Lane to Tattenhall Lane)

The route now enters Cheshire East Council section.
Long Lane (from the CEC boundary at a point 1.2km northeast of Coach Road to Coach Road)
Coach Road (from Long Lane to Bickerton Road)
Bickerton Road (from Coach Road to A41 Whitchurch Road)
A41 Whitchurch Road (at the roundabout of Bickerton Road and B5069)
B5069 (from A41 Whitchurch Road to Chester Road)
Chester Road (from B5069 to B5395 High Street)
B5395 High Street (from Chester Road to B5069 Church Street)
B5069 Church Street (from B5395 High Street to B5069 Wrexham Road)
B5069 Wrexham Road (from B5069 Church Street to Welsh boarder at a point 240m northwest of
Sam Road)
The order will also suspend parking / loading and unloading from 07:00 for a period of 7 hours
Churton Road Farndon (from High Street to a point 530 m north of High Street at the Monument)
Chester Road Malpas (from High Street to the Malpas fire station at a point 165m northeast of High
Street)

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES FOR TRAFFIC
Due to the short nature of the closures no diversions will be in place.
Nothing in the Order shall prevent driving upon the said lengths of road of any vehicle which is being
used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes.
Pedestrian access to premises situated on or adjacent to the roads will be maintained at all times.
