5. Borough Councillor Update:-

Mike Jones, Borough Councillor was away on business at the time of the meeting.

6. Members Code of Conduct:-

It was proposed that the CW&C Code of Conduct be formally adopted by MH and this was seconded by SV as of 10/05/22

7. Wild Boar:-

The Bat Licence has been issued.  A scaffolding will be erected over the whole building by the end of May.  This will stay in place until planning is granted for the proposed scheme.  The Developers will hold an open forum in Bunbury Village Hall allowing residents to have their say on the proposed scheme.  This date will be announced at the end of May.  AH asked how this meeting would be publicised?

8. Cattle Market Development:-

4 Families are now resident on the site.  MH has visited them and informed them of the Beacon lighting for the Jubilee celebrations  and handed over the “welcome to Beeston” leaflet and Operation Shield information.

The developers are still struggling to get the LPG tank in.

Tree planting scheme is still with Highways awaiting approval.

10. Highways:-Beeston Speed limit Update:–  Litter picker:  AH commented on less litter in the Parish.

Footpaths:-

·         Footpath 8 – still closed until the building work is completed for the LPG tanks.

·         Footpath 11a –Rails are now re erected.  Thanks for TP & MH for mending them.  Footpath officer for C&CW is delighted with the repairs.

·         Roadside ditches, verges and drains:-  Issues with CW & C Highways delivery team not carrying out their Surveying Department’s repair works. A number of matters outstanding for more than 4 months.

·         SV thanked MH for all his continued work in trying to get issues sorted within the parish. MH urged everyone to use the reporting system on the website to register highways issues.

11. Clerk’s report:-

No further update on recent e mails.

12. Queens Platinum Jubilee June 2022:-

Beacon lighting on 02/06/22 at the Castle.  Provisional programme is being formulated.  There will be a bar & BBQ and medieval players present.  Various other entertainments are being organised. A Piper & trumpeter will be playing.  Timings for the Beacon lighting/extinguishing are being discussed. Ticket issuing for the event is via the Castle website.

TP has had the Beacon tested and has a certificate to show that it is fit for purpose.  This will be given to the Castle for insurance purposes.  TP/MH to repaint the Beacon.

13. Village hall Committee – Future Parish Council representation – update

Representation still needed for the committee from BPC.  DW has resigned from the committee and a further member is required.

SV raised concerns about the current H&S issue of the car park and tree felling that is currently taking place.

14. Community activities and services: –

Information postcard has now been delivered to all residents in Beeston.

15. Outdoor Centre: –

CW&C are still considering whether they have need of the Centre.  Maintenance is still an issue.  This is now programmed with CW&C.

16. Beeston Castle & Tarporley Station re-opening: –

The report has now been delivered to the Transport Secretary regarding the re opening of the station.

17. Signing off of the annual Parish Accounts 2021-22: –

MH signed off the accounts and the AGAR certificate can now be forwarded to the External Auditors.  Notices for public inspection of the accounts will be published on the website.

18. Parish Insurance renewal:-

Currently finished the end of a 3 year deal.  It was agreed that BPC will continue on the most favourable LTA terms.
