1.Introduction & Welcome

Mike Harrison welcomed all Councillors to the meeting.   Members of public were present.

2. Annual Report of the Parish Council by the Chairman, Beeston Parish Council.

The past year has been very frustrating with any issues relating to CWAC.  Any correspondence sent is never replied to.

The beginning of the year saw a very successful lighting of the beacon for D Day.  A special thanks to Tom Platt and Daphne Weedall for their efforts in making this a success.

Thank you to Tom Platt for his efforts in maintaining the village assets.

Thank you to all the Parish Councillors for their continued support on all Parish Matters

3.Statement on the Parish Council accounts for Year ending 31 March 2022 by the Clerk to the Parish Council.

The Precept was increased from last year year’s level of £4,241 to £5,410 to accommodate increasing costs for the Parish council.

The Parish project for 2024/25 have been the instalment of the 3 kissing gates on the footpaths that border Tattenhall PC, who contributed £450 to the purchase of them and an additional cost to Beeston PC of £90 for the instalment of them.

D Day celebrations in June 2024 Beeston PC contributed to the lighting of the Beacon, Town Crier uniform hire and a donation to Tarporley High School for their art materials and a donation to PBVR for the use of their facility and display that was put on to commemorate the day.  A successful application to The Ward Members Budget was applied for and the Parish Council received  £322 to cover all of the costs.  Thank you to Cllr Jones for endorsing the application.

With the VAT return (past 3 years amounted to £493) Ward Members Grant, & Kissing gate contribution, has meant that the PC ended the financial year £835 under budget.  A reserve of £3,641 is carried forward a to the new financial year.

As always, thanks to the Chair and Councillors for their continued support in my role as Clerk to the Parish Council.

4.To invite the public to raise any matters of interest.

Local resident complained about the state of the village and the noticeable decline.  Highways are not taking care of the area.  Cars are continually parked on the side of the pavements, which means they are not accessible.  The chair stated that there is a continual communication with both e police and CWAC in relation to these matters.

The Meeting ended at 7.15pm
