Application in for variation on affordable housing. Over the proposed shop – will not be allowed, so a variation has been submitted for 2 of the current houses to take the place of the 3 flats as affordable housing.  Potential issues about finding an operator to run the shop.  MH to speak to planning officer regarding recent application for the site to have the S106 terms of varied.

 9. Neighbourhood Plan 2017 – 2030 – ongoing review

MH reported that the Government has published the new planning framework resulting in that there is no immediate necessity to update the current Plan, but consideration should be given to what is in the plan – age of residents, identify places for development etc. Spoken to NP CWAC lady.  Indicative housing numbers for Beeston isn’t within the local plan as Beeston is not a ‘service centre’.  Local plan has just been released and is in early stages of introduction.  Beeston NP was published in 2017 – factual information has altered to present day requirements.  Tiverton PC are keen to get the plan revamped, but cost is prohibitive – up to £20k.  MH suggests that going forward that the NP should be done in conjunction with Tiverton as there are similar needs across the parishes.  No funding available from CWAC for the plan.  MHT will investigate the man hours and value of the time it will take/cost to update the survey for NP

MJ reported that under the new Planning framework, Councillors are no longer able to “call in” applications – now all to be determined centrally.
